Promemama's eggs are estimated to hatch between May 4th and May 8th, so be sure to keep watching to catch a glimpse of the ducklings.

Promemama's Story:

On Monday, April 8th, a long time customer of Promenade Saucon Valley stopped by the management office to alert the staff that a duck had made her nest in one of the planters near the bowl fountain. While ducks often make their nests on Promenade property due to the retention pond in the back, this is the first time a duck has made her nest in a planter. Due to her prominent location on Main Street, Promenade staff decided to host a naming contest on social media. Favorite suggestions included Promenadeduck, Prommie, Eggetha Christie, and Mallory, but ultimately Promemama was chosen.

Mallards typically sit on their nest for most of the day and leave their eggs typically covered in a layer of down for a short amount of time to feed. Mallard nests and eggs are federally protected so guests are prohibited from touching, moving, feeding or otherwise disturbing Promemama or her eggs.
