May 18 - American Cancer Society CPS-3 Cancer Screenings Volunteer Fair (All Day): There are nearly 13.7 million people in America who have survived cancer—and countless more who have avoided it—who will be celebrating birthdays this year. You can join the movement for more birthdays and fight back against cancer by enrolling in a new research study called the Cancer Prevention Study-3 (CPS-3).The American Cancer Society's Epidemiology Research Program is inviting men and women between the ages of 30 and 65 years who have no personal history of cancer to join this historic research study. CPS-3 can help us understand how to prevent cancer, which will save lives and give people more of their most precious resource—time. More time with their families and friends, more memories, more celebrations, and ultimately more birthdays.

May 20: A Taste of Tai Chi and Qigong (6pm to 7pm): Western medicine is discovering that when mind, body, and spirit are connected and in harmony, we have improved health outcomes. Eastern medicine has known this for thousands of years, and has always incorporated mindful movement in their health care practices. Qigong (working the energy of the body) and tai chi (a type of qigong) will be the subject of our hour long practices. Come see how these ancient traditions can quiet your mind and relax your body. No experience necessary, and all movements can be done in a chair if need be. Taught by experienced teacher, Hilary Smith, RN.
